I emailed Charles Dowding to let him know that I used his book as a guide for setting up my new allotment and the community garden. He replied:
Hello Lorna
Many thanks for this, it is encouraging to hear you have done all that with just the book to help you! It makes all the writing worthwhile, to have feedback like this.
Funnily enough I am just doing a piece for Amateur Gardening on the virtues of no dig and the lead photo is something like in your piece:
best wishes
Charles
Look at the incredible salad beds on his homepage!
PS: I have just gone 'public' with my blog now that I have a little more time with my son starting school. So if you like what you see, please follow, share, get in touch if you like. Thanks!

How very sweet he emailed you back. The photo of him in the garden is too fun!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos of the bohemian garden wall and the children's artwork. Never seen those faces in the woods before and the logs in the deck. They all look so fun.
Welcome to blogging and going public. Good luck with it!
P.S. I had difficulty figuring out how to comment as the comment link is not showing up unless I click on the title.
Thank you so much Tina. The Bohemia walled garden is really a magical secret garden.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the comments tip. I think I've fixed it now.
I can see it now:)

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun picture he sent you. I was thinking, Hum, I have never grown one of those in a garden before... LOL...
