Old town garden: spring's banquet
The weather this week has been a contrast of very warm sun and icy cold winds. Spring flowering plants and bulbs now pad the garden and the shape of the borders are starting to change. Tulips are peering out from the foliage all around. It looks as though a jewelry box has been emptied all over, scattering rubies and orange and pink topaz amongst frothy waves of tender green shoots. The cuplike blooms look beautiful sprouting up through the euphorbia and sedum leaves. A verdant table laid with goblets waiting to be filled with the next shower.
